What We Do

What we do:
The Hands of Gratitude Project delivers new prosthetic hands to recipients with limb differences around the world! Funded by our generous donors, our team creates partnerships with local organizations to identify and connect with recipients. Prosthetic hands are 3D printed and individually assembled for each recipient by groups in the Unites States. We currently have established programs in Guatemala, Dominican Republic, India, and Tanzania.

Your contribution to The Hands of Gratitude Project will make our continued work possible - empowering individuals with limb differences around the world. Donate Today to One of Our Programs Around the World
The Mission of The Hands of Gratitude Project is to provide a safe, comfortable and celebratory prosthetic donation process for both our recipients and our NGO partners.
Funds raised through The Hands of Gratitude Project go towards organizing donation events, including recipient transportation, meals, and venue rental for the event as well as transportation and organizational costs for our team.
In additional to international events, recipient support and travel, donations to The Hands of Gratitude Project will be used for prosthetic customization, development of task specific prosthetic implements and newly engineered device designs.
Thank you so much for your support
How We Do It

1
Hand Builds
Hands of Gratitude leads corporate groups, school students, families and others through guided hand building programs. Hands are assembled out of 3D printed parts, following intricate directions. Participants build hands for particular recipients, whose name, photographs and stories are provided. Notes and drawings addressed to recipients are included with the assembled hands. Program facilitators stress the immense difference the hands will make in the lives of recipients and draw participants attention to the concepts of generosity and gratitude.

2
Delivery
The Hands of Gratitude Project team travels to countries where we have partnerships with local organizations. Prosthetic hands are delivered to recipients, along with notes and drawings from the folks who assembled the hands. The hands help to better the lives of these recipients, making personal and professional activities more accessible. Delivery trips are funded by charitable donations from our supporters.

Recruiting
Recipients
While abroad, our team hosts camps, where those with limb differences can sign up to receive prosthetic hands on future trips. They are measured for the hands, get thier photos taken, and their story recorded, so that future hand assemblers can learn about them while building thier hands.
